Our Story

Back in the late 1990s, Mariann and Robert Griffith were busy raising five young children. Much of their time was consumed with working, running errands, chaperoning field trips, and driving their kids to lessons and other activities. It was during this hectic time that Mariann came up with the idea to prepare a month’s worth of meals at a time for her family. The Griffith’s were amazed to discover the amount of money they saved on their monthly food budget and the extra time it gave them to spend with their family.

Thus began Homestyle Direct in the spring of 1997, when the Griffiths began delivering meals throughout the Magic Valley of Idaho.

Today, Homestyle Direct provides quality, fresh-frozen meals to ailing and aging seniors through the Idaho region of Medicaid as well as to seniors in other states through the Medicaid program. The Griffith kids—all grown up now—are all part of the business that’s truly family-run.
