As we age memory loss is normal, but not a loss that hinders every day life.  Getting a proper diagnosis for Alzheimer's is key.  Here are some of the early symptoms of Alzheimer's :

Difficulty completing familiar tasks at home, or at work
Changes in mood and personality, inappropriate social behavior
Trouble remembering recent activities
Poor decision making and judgment
Inability to manage a budget
Not knowing the date of the season
Repeating the same story over again
Difficulty having a conversation
Losing things and not being able to find them
Withdrawal from social situations
Trouble speaking or writing

If your loved ones show any of these signs a complete exam and treatment by your Doctor is very important.
