Food safety is essential everywhere. Check your steps for food safety by following four basic rules — Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill. Tell your friends, family, and grandchildren what it takes to be a “Food Safety Family.”

  • Clean: Wash hands and surfaces often
  • Separate: Don’t cross-contaminate
  • Cook: Cook to the right temperatures
  • Chill: At room temperature, bacteria in food can double every 20 minutes. The more bacteria there are, the greater the chance you could become sick.
